Safety
A bedside cot could be described as a bassinet which is connected to the bed's side for safe cosleeping. It can be used to pull your baby toward you to comfort them, feed them or to help soothe them at night. It's also an excellent option if you have had a c section. It's different from a Moses basket or cot as it has high sides to ensure your baby won't be pushed out. Some come with a tilt feature which can help babies with reflux and colic. The NHS and The Lullaby Trust, a safe sleep charity, suggest that babies be placed in a bassinet or cot that is in the same room with their parents. They should not be in your bed. Bed-sharing increases the risks of suffocation or overheating. Bedside cribs allow your child to rest close to you, but in a safe and separate space.
When choosing a bedside crib make sure it is in compliance with the latest safety standards (it should be BS EN 1130:2019) and has no gaps or parts that could cause your child to get trapped. Choose a mattress that has a flat, firm surface. A mattress that is too sagging or that is too soft can increase the risk of SIDS in your baby.
Make sure your bedding is well-fitted and free of pillows or blankets that are loose. Pillows can cause suffocation and duvets could get stuck to baby's face. Use a fitted sheet, however, make sure it fits properly.

Its slim frame and neutral colors will fit in with all bedrooms, though some of our home testers felt the bars were too close, which means they could get caught on clothing or toys for babies. The distance between bars should not exceed 6.5cm (2 inches) in order to prevent your baby's head from getting trapped. This is a good crib for reflux babies too, as its ComfortAir breathability technology helps regulate temperature.
Comfort
Staying close to your baby throughout the night will give you peace of mind, however, you must be capable of reaching them quickly for middle-of-the-night feeding. With a crib at your bedside, you can do this without having to get out of bed. They also make it easier to calm babies back to sleep. If you want to be able to sleep with your child but don't wish to be a burden of getting up every time they're fed, a moses's-basket is an excellent alternative.
Most cribs with a bedside are connected to the bedside which allows you to see and reach your baby. Most have mesh windows which allow you to watch your baby without disrupting the baby. They might also include a reflux setting to aid in reflux or colic.

Some of our mothers appreciate the fact that this crib is able to be dismantled for easy transport, while others find it a bit difficult to assemble and then rebuild. It is also difficult to keep clean and you'll need to clean it regularly using a cloth or cleaning product.

A bedside cot for six months and older is a bassinet style cot that attaches to the mattress's side to allow secure co-sleeping. They're ideal for feeding your baby at night as well as calming babies to sleep, and allowing mothers who've had an e-csection to keep their baby close.
It's important that you choose a crib that meets the latest safety standards. Verify that the bars on the crib are positioned sufficiently apart to keep your child's head from becoming trapped. Also, make sure that the drop-down side is safe and doesn't fall open accidentally. Do not place stickers or transfer onto the surface of the cot because they could be the risk of choking.
